OCTOBER 1, 2026 MESSAGE TEXT.
Good evening Yadkin Early College parents and students. If you will give me just a couple minutes of your time, I have a few announcements. First, tomorrow morning, Friday, October 2, fourth year seniors will have their required advisory class. They will have guest speakers about internship and apprenticeship opportunities for students. These are great opportunities for students to get prepared for their future plans and maybe even get paid along the way. So make sure seniors are in attendance tomorrow morning. Attendance will be taken.
Also, we have posted our newest apparel order online. Please check out our website or social media pages for information and the link. Students and parents can order hoodies and shirts to show their wolf pride and support Yadkin Early College. Orders will be taken through October 9th.
Last week, progress reports were sent home with students. Parents, please make sure you have seen your student's progress report. Any student with a class average below a 70 must have the report signed by a parent and returned to the teacher.
We have several upcoming events to add to your calendars as well. On Thursday, October 8, we will have our FAFSA Night at 6:00 upstairs in A building room 224. Students planning to graduate at the end of this school year should attend to learn how to complete the required FAFSA application. Please bring a copy of last years tax returns to help you complete this.
On Friday, October 9, we will have our school picture day. All students, except those graduating in May, will have their picture taken on this day. So please dress in school appropriate attire and come prepared to have your picture taken that morning. No hats are allowed in school pictures. Also, graduating students will have their formal pictures taken in November.
We have multiple field trips scheduled this month so please be on the look out for permission forms prior to these trips. And finally there is another early release day and workday scheduled for October 15 and 16. So please make sure to mark these on your calendar.
Thank you for your time and I hope you have a wonderful evening.
