Yadkin Early College

2019-2020 Parent Involvement

We welcome and encourage parent involvement at YEC.  We cannot stress enough the importance of what parents do at home to support their children’s learning. YOU are your child’s most important teacher and we can help you instill a desire to be a lifelong learner. Please join us in helping our children be their very best.

There are several ways that you can be involved with your children at our school.  One simple way is to have lunch with him/her. Find out what time your child eats lunch, come to the main office and sign in, and spend some quality time with your son/daughter and his/her friends in this informal setting.

If you would like to serve as a YEC Parent Representative or spend time supervising or helping out with students at our school, you will need to complete and submit a background check form. There are three levels of parent participation which you can read about by clicking the link on this page. Because student safety is so vitally important, only Yadkin County Schools approved parents/guardians may help supervise our students.

We need parents to help us with a wide variety of clubs, teams and organizations. As you can see in the following list, there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved.

  • School Improvement Team (SIT) Parent Representative
  • Yadkin Early College Parent Representative for YCS Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council
  • National Honor Society
  • Interact Club
  • Student Council
  • Robotic Teams
  • College Cup competitions
  • Schoolwide and team/club field trips

We will contact you and answer any questions you may have.  We look forward to working with you - our parents - and hope you will consider helping us this school year! Thank you.
