Yadkin Early College High School's Inclement Weather Policy and Information
Yadkin Early College High School classes follow Yadkin County Schools' Weather policy. If Yadkin County Schools are on an inclement weather delay, closing, or early release, Yadkin Early College High School classes are as well.
Students who are enrolled in Surry Community College classes will need to follow the weather decision made by SCC for those classes. IF parents feel it is safe for their student to do so, students may attend their college classes as scheduled. If parents feel it is not safe for their child to attend college classes on a day when YCS is delayed or closed, they can have their college class absence excused, however they must email or contact their instructor about their absence. They are also responsible for any and all work they might miss. If a student attends a college class that is outside of the Yadkin Early College delayed or early release schedule, parents will be responsible for transportation for their student. No special bus routes will be run for students in college courses.
If the Yadkin Early College is on a delay, students will report to their homeroom for a 5-minute period then report to their 1st period class and follow an abbreviated schedule for the day.
Some days that school campuses are closed for students may be declared Remote Learning Days. On these days, students will work remotely from home on assignments provided by their instructors and attend any scheduled virtual class meetings using an online platform. Students will still be responsible for completing the assigned work for those days.
